Specialty Pharmaceuticals | Adamis Laboratories’ Epinephrine Injection USP 1:1000 (0.3mg Pre-Filled Single Dose Syringe) (i.e.: Epinephrine Injection PFS) will compete as a “low cost, therapeutic alternative” to the well known brand EpiPen®. While an extremely important piece of Adamis Labs’ product development strategy, Epinephrine Injection PFS serves as an introduction for the commercialization identity, and as a precursor, to its more long-term and higher potential revenue generating products.
Adamis Labs has identified several “niche” areas of respiratory medicine and its development pipeline includes two aerosolized inhalers. Both are aerosolized via HFA propellants. Adamis intends to “carve out” commercialization for specific specialty prescribing audiences (e.g. allergists, pulmonologists, ENT’s) and partner with other pharma companies for the broader and valuable primary care audience.
Adamis believes that the combination of specialty pharma and biotechnology can provide Adamis with a financial base of revenue and sufficient cash flow to support development programs. | Biotechnology | Adamis in-licensed the exclusive rights to broad technology that has the potential to produce both preventative and therapeutic vaccines for a variety of viral diseases. Adamis technology appears to have the ability to “program” a person’s immune system to recognize and mount a defense against a particular aspect of a virus’ structure. The initial targets will be chronic hepatitis and avian influenza. | Foot notes:
1. The abbreviation “Epinephrine Injection PFS” refers to the product Epinephrine Injection USP 1:1000 (0.3mg Pre-Filled Single Dose Syringe)
2. EpiPen® is a registered trademark of Mylan, Inc. licensed exclusively to its wholly-owned affiliate, Dey, L.P.
Due to the difference in dosage form (Pre-Filled Syringe vs. Auto-injector), Epinephrine Injection PFS is not AB rated to EpiPen®.
Third party payers and cash-paying patients without prescription coverage may benefit from potentially lower costs of Epinephrine Injection PFS than EpiPen®.
